  • No Outstanding Public Health Debts: Any existing public health debts to the Australian Government must be cleared before applying.

  • Genuine Temporary Entry: You must genuinely intend to stay in Australia temporarily and comply with all visa conditions.


Duration of Stay and Renewal Options

The Subclass 870 visa allows parents to stay in Australia for up to five years per visa. Parents can reapply for an additional visa, permitting a maximum total stay of 10 years. After reaching this limit, further Subclass 870 visas are generally not granted. At that point, you must either leave Australia or apply for an alternate visa that permits continued stay.
