Eligibility Criteria for Approval

 

To be eligible for the Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190), you must:

  • Be under 45 years of age at the time of invitation.
  • Nominate an occupation that is on the relevant Skilled Occupation List (STSOL or MLTSSL) for the Subclass 190 visa.
  • Secure a nomination from an Australian state or territory government. Each state/territory has its own specific occupation lists and criteria.
  • Have your skills assessed by the appropriate Australian skills assessing authority for your nominated occupation.
  • Demonstrate at least Competent English proficiency.
  • Satisfy Australia’s health and character requirements.

Health & Character Requirements

All applicants, including any family members included in your visa application, must:

  • Complete the necessary medical examinations within 12 months prior to applying.

  • Submit police clearance certificates from every country where you’ve lived for 12 months or more in the past 10 years, starting from the age of 16.

 

English Language Proficiency

You must demonstrate competent English by achieving the minimum required scores in one of the following approved tests:

  • PTE (Pearson Test of English): Minimum score of 50 in each of the four components

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System): Minimum score of 6 in each component

  • Equivalent scores in TOEFL iBT, OET, or CAE are also accepted

 

Adding Family Members 

You can include the following eligible family members in your visa application:

  • Your spouse or de facto partner

  • Your child or your partner’s child (including step-children)
