Australian Student Visa(Subclass 500) Process
To study in Australia, international students must follow a structured process starting with admission to an approved educational institution and progressing to visa application.

Select your desired program and education provider. - Apply for Admission
Submit your application along with the required documents. - Receive the Offer Letter
- Conditional Offer: Issued if English results and Financial documents are pending.
- Unconditional Offer: Issued if all requirements, including English scores, are met.
- Accept the Offer
Accept the offer and pay the initial tuition fees (semester or annual, based on the provider). - Get eCoE
The institution will issue an Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) – a mandatory document for visa application. - Apply for Student Visa (Subclass 500)
Submit your visa application to the Australian Department of Home Affairs. Apply at least 12 weeks before your course starts. - Visa Approval & Travel
Once the visa is granted, you can prepare to travel to Australia.
Documents Required for Australian Student Visa
- Valid passport (including old passports)
- Academic certificates (10th, 12th, Diploma, Bachelor’s, Master’s)
- Official Transcripts
- English proficiency test results (IELTS/PTE)
- Genuine Student Statement (GSS)
- Resume/CV
- Work experience letters (if any)
- Letter of Recommendation (LOR)
- Marriage/Birth Certificates (if applicable)

Living Expenses in Australia
In addition to tuition fees, international students must plan for everyday living expenses, which can be a significant financial commitment. While Australia offers a high quality of life, living costs especially in cities like Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane can be high.
To meet visa requirements, students must demonstrate access to at least AUD 29,710 per year for living expenses.
If accompanied by family members, additional financial evidence is required:

Actual costs vary by location and lifestyle. Students in regional or smaller cities may benefit from lower living expenses.

Financial Requirements
You must show evidence of sufficient funds, held for at least 3 months prior to the application
- Personal bank statements
- Income tax returns (3 years)
- Employer letter stating position, salary, and contact details
- Education loan sanction/disbursement letter
- Chartered accountant declarations
- Company sponsorship (balance sheet, sponsorship bond)
- Agricultural income: land ownership, income certificates, sales receipts
